AI Disclosure

Nursing Insight recognizes the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in academic writing, data analysis, and research support. The journal follows internationally accepted ethical principles, including guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding transparency in the use of AI-assisted technologies.

Author Responsibilities

Authors must fully disclose any use of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT or similar technologies) in the preparation of their manuscript. AI tools may be used for language editing, grammar correction, formatting support, or idea clarification; however, they must not be listed as authors and cannot take responsibility for the content.

Acceptable Use of AI

AI tools may be used to support:

  • Language improvement and grammar correction
  • Formatting and structuring of text
  • Literature organization and summarization support
  • Data analysis assistance (with proper validation by authors)

All content generated or assisted by AI must be critically reviewed, verified, and approved by the human authors.

Unacceptable Use of AI

The following uses are not permitted:

  • Using AI to generate scientific conclusions without human validation
  • Submitting AI-generated manuscripts without significant human contribution
  • Misrepresenting AI-generated content as original human work
  • Using AI tools in a way that compromises research integrity or originality

Disclosure Requirement

Authors must include an AI disclosure statement in the manuscript (e.g., in the Methods or Acknowledgements section), clearly indicating:

  • The name of the AI tool used
  • The purpose of its use
  • The extent of human oversight and verification

If no AI tools were used, authors should state this explicitly.

Editorial Policy

The editorial team may request clarification or reject manuscripts where AI use is unclear, undisclosed, or raises concerns about originality, authorship integrity, or research validity.

Ethical Alignment

This policy aligns with COPE recommendations on transparency and responsible use of AI in scholarly publishing and supports the integrity of the academic record.
